Dawn Russell, Studio Jeweler

www.dawnrussell.us

Dawn Russell makes artistic, ecologically sensitive jewelry that is inspired by natural wonders. Her most current jewelry has been influenced by the striking Leafy Seadragon which lives off the coast of Australia amongst the coral reefs. Her jewelry combines recycled exotic hardwoods, mammoth ivory, green gold and silver, and natural pearls.

She thinks of jewelry as an art form and has spoken about it in this way: "What I love about jewelry is that it is one of the few artistic mediums that can move outside the boundaries of the gallery, music hall, or museum. It comes alive on the body. It is part fashion, part theater, part self expression and always engaged in the moment to moment life of the wearer."
