The 6th Annual Art Raffle hosted by the Rockingham Arts and Museum Project (RAMP) will be held on Sunday July 29th at 4:00 PM in Boccelli's restaurant on 46 Canal Street in Bellows Falls, VT. The Raffle offers an opportunity to win original artwork, eat a great meal, have fun and support RAMP. View the art work.
Artists that have donated works include Charlie Hunter, Julia Zanes, Donald Saaf, Audrey Boerum, Nan Durling, Francoise van Dwingelo, Sally Elliott, Diedre Fuchs, Coleen Grout, Marlene Kramer, Joy Mitchell, Helen Petkas, Anne Y, Myra Ashcroft, Bob Cantius, Mary Massucco, Linda Striecke, Robert Huntoon, Robert McBride, Pat Avila, Richard Gombar and Becky Graver. A $25.00 ticket can lead to winning one of approximately 80 pieces of art valued in the hundreds, even thousands of dollars. Images of the donated works will be posted on the RAMP website in July.
RAMP's director, Robert McBride, states that the event is exciting for both the artists and the people who purchase raffle tickets. "The quality of the art is very high, and the possibility of winning a piece of art is very exciting to the people who purchase tickets." McBride was a founding member of PS 122, the performance and visual art center in New York City.
The raffle is part of RAMP's mission to develop an awareness of the arts, create vitality in the community through art, and demonstrate that art can favorably impact a community both financially and culturally. The raffle is an opportunity to meet the artists and become part of the creative arts community.
RAMP recently collaborated on the Public Art/Moving Site, a traveling presentation of public art that was presented in Cambridge, Massachusetts, New Haven, Connecticut and Bellows Falls, Vermont. The exhibition was selected as one of the Top 20 projects completed in the public art field for 2005 by the Americans for the Arts Public Art Network (PAN) Year in Review.
The donated paintings, photographs, ceramics, drawings and sculpture will be on display at Boccelli's beginning three weeks before the event. The tickets are $25 each or 5 for $100. Those who purchase 5 tickets or more will be invited with a guest to a patron's dinner sponsored by RAMP, with many of the participating artists in attendance.
Artists who are interested in donating a work to the event should contact RAMP.
