33 Bridge Street in Bellows Falls, VT
The Rockingham Arts and Museum Project (RAMP), in tandem with artists Chris Sherwin, Jeanette Staley and Clare Adams are hosting an Artists' Town Meeting at 33 Bridge Street in Bellows Falls on Thursday, March 16, 2016 starting at 6 PM. The location at 33 Bridge Street is home to WOOL FM and Chris Sherwin's Glass Studio.
The focus of these meetings is to bring together artists, artisans and local growers in order to share ideas, challenges and opportunities. According to Robert McBride, director of RAMP, the purpose of artist town meetings is to strengthen artist constituency. "The more we know each other and can identify ourselves as a viable constituency, the more strength and credibility we gain. There is an ever-growing community of working artists and local growers in our midst, all of whom are contributing greatly to the cultural and economic vitality of our community."
One of the topics to be discussed is participation in the Vermont Open Studio Weekend which will be held on Saturday and Sunday, May 27 and 28. The Open Studio Weekend offers an excellent opportunity for artists to share their work with the public. Other updates include: developing a series of art-themed films as part of Classic Movie Night hosted at the Bellows Falls Opera House, the possibility of developing a pop-up art store in downtown Bellows Falls. and opportunities to partner with FactTV and WOOL FM.
The meeting is informal and includes a pot luck. RSVPs are encouraged and appreciated: email email@example.com with "Artists' Town Meeting" in the subject line or by calling 802-463-3252. 33 Bridge Street is wheelchair accessible. Please call RAMP in advance at 802-463-3252 to make arrangements.
RAMP acknowledges The Vermont Arts Council, the National Endowment for the Arts, Sovernet and Chroma for their underwriting, allowing RAMP to host Artists' Town Meetings.
