Jacque Fabrizi
Project 9 Gallery Space recently hosted an exhibition of the works of local illustrator, Jacqueline Fabrizi. The illustrations reflect her background in the field of commercial art over the last ten years. Her professional life has been split between New York City and southeastern Vermont.
"I made my first visit to Saxtons River back in the late eighties visiting friends and knew this is the place I wanted to live." explains Jacque "I have been bouncing back and forth between Vermont and New York City ever since and in 2008 I moved into the Exner Block, which provides housing for artists, in downtown Bellows Falls."
Ms Fabrizi is a self taught artist and has developed her style working in all genres of illustration, preproduction and digital artwork. She is well versed in all the traditional mediums of painting, drawing and sculpture. She has worked for Counttime productions, an animation studio based in Tribeca and G-Unit Productions drawing storyboards, environments, and character design for 3d rendering. She is currently working on illustrating a book, in collaboration with a former Ford Model promoting positive body image for women of all ages.
"Over the years I've accumulated many sketches, since I sketch daily for pleasure, practice and from habit and for projects I am working on.As you can imagine, I have a great deal of these sketches and no longer am able to store them." explains Jacque.
The day long exhibition is the first time she has shared her work for sale; the works are very reasonably priced. The work reflects Ms Fabrizi's artistic evolution over the last five years and shares a consistent whimsy. The techniques she employs resonate the influences of old world masters as well as contemporary eastern styles.
