We invite you to join the new RAMP Google Group, which is intended to replace what used to be the RAMP ListServ.
The Google Group is intended to serve as a forum where we can all exchange ideas, make connections and let each other know about exciting arts events and opportunities in our community. We hope it will be a vibrant, free-flowing and interesting community conversation where all are welcome to participate and where we are respectful, tolerant and kind to one another. To that end, we are not planning to moderate group postings, unless we are called upon to do so, and will trust that we all can play nicely in the same sandbox.
The focus of the group is the arts in our community. And while we recognize that this is a very broad topic, we'd ask all members to make sure their postings have some connection to the arts and that they have some local or regional relevance. For example; a posting that announces that your Bellows Falls theater company has just gotten a touring grant for six performances in California would likely be of interest to many group members (we like to celebrate local successes!), a posting delineating the entire set list of every Japanese performance of the Rolling Stone's 18th comeback tour really goes beyond what we had envisioned and there are likely other Google groups out there that would be more appropriate for that sort of posting.
We would ask that all members adhere to a very basic set of guidelines: 1.) Out of respect for those with dial-up, please no attachments, photos, video or other large files that will cause chaos for those with slower connections. If you'd like to post links to websites that host that sort of content, please feel free to do so. 2.) Please be considerate of the time and attention spans of others by being thoughtful about what and how often you post. 3.) Please let moderators know if you are spotting spam or other bothersome content.
